Durga Halder

Loan Use: -To pay for purchasing wool for the expansion of her business.

41 years old Durga is a hardworking and enterprising woman. She is married to Tarak, who is a fish vendor. Together they are bringing up one son who reads in class 10. She lives in the village Arsulla which is located in the north 24-Parganas district of West Bengal.

Durga knits woolen garments for an additional income for the family. She has spent years in this profession and has many clients. She knits woolen shawls, sweaters, caps, mufflers etc. and sells to her villagers. Right now, she has a lot of orders pending, so she would like to buy wool in bulk to take advantage of the price. This way she can make a better profit and knit without difficulty.

The major hurdle that comes in the way of this enterprising woman is the lack of funds to buy necessary stock. It is for these reasons that Durga is requesting a loan for Rs. 12,000 from Milaap through BJS, to buy variety colors of wools on wholesale, in order to increase her production and continue her business, to buy her required goods for growing her business successfully.

Durga's dream is to increase her production, and to expand her variety of products. She wants to buy a variety of wools on wholesale to be able to have a constant supply of working material and to improve the variety of what she offers.
