Executive Committee

BJS is proud of having a very strong Executive Committee. The members of the committee have the talent and vast expertise in their own field of work. All the members are from the banking or microfinance sector or have a very deep involvement with the social development sector. The team is a combination of members from the diverse field of work which gave BJS a very comfortable feeling for running the microfinance as well as social development works very effectively and smoothly. The following are the honourable members of our Executive Committee.

Mr Satyabrata Chakraborty


Qualification: M. Sc. in Agriculture

Experience: Having 25 years of banking experience in different responsible positions. Worked as Deputy Manager, Branch Manager, Lead District Manager, and Asst. Regional Manager in the United Bank of India. Apart from the banking service worked as a Public Relation Officer in Fertilizer Corporation of India and the Department of Health, Govt. of India. He has a total of 34 years of working experience to his credit.


Mr. Sumit Banerjee


Qualification: M.Com.

Mr Banerjee has a work experience of 19 years, of which 9 years is in the microfinance sector. Presently he is working as the “Assistant Coordinator” under the State Rural Development Agency (an Agency of the Panchayat & Rural Development Department, Govt. of West Bengal). He is a dedicated social worker and is associated with many social development activities with ardent interest and sincere co-operation.


Mr Bishwajit Das

Secretary & CEO

Qualification: M.Com

Mr Bishwajit Das is the Chief Promoter of BJS. He is also the founder and CEO. He has 30 years of experience in Micro Finance and social development fields and possesses a solid understanding of microfinance operations right from the grass-root level. He has a rich experience of working in different organizations of national and international repute. He has also gone through a good number of capacity building training/workshops conducted by world-famous organizations/ financial institutions like - UNITUS (Global Microfinance Accelerator), Access Development Services (ADS), ABN AMRO, Planet Finance, IIM Bangalore.


Ms Kakali Das (Halder)


Qualification: B.A

Ms Kakali Das(Halder) has over 15 years of experience in the social development sector. She has also worked for over 9 years at the grassroots level in the microfinance sector. She is engaged in many social activities and women rights issues and is dedicated to the cause of women empowerment.


Mr Ranjit Kumar Dutta


Qualification: M.A. in Pol. Science

Mr Datta has been working towards the Socio-Economic Development of the poor and underprivileged community through implementation micro-credit programs since 2005. He has over 44 years of experience and is a stalwart in the development sector.


Ms Mary Banerjee


Qualification: B. Com. (Hons.) in Accountancy

Ms Mary Banerjee has a work experience of 27 years in various fields, starting from academics to administration, social development to microfinance and public relations to running a music band. Presently she is the vocalist and bandleader of a famous band “Teetas”.


Ms Mira Debnath


Qualification: Higher Secondary

Ms Debnath is a devoted social worker engaged in various development programs for underprivileged women and their economic empowerment and social rights. She has been associated with BJS right from its inception. She has over 27 years of experience in the development sector of which a considerable no of years has been solely in the microfinance sector.

News Update


    In the journey, BJS believes itself fortunate to have come across several stalwarts who have added values to inspire and uphold our organization. On 30th July 2019, one such revered person viz. Mr. S.S.Bhat, Managing Director of Ananya Finance for Inclusive Growth Pvt. Ltd. has visited BJS Head Office. A cordial and threadbare discussion was held between him and Mr Bishwajit Das, CEO of BJS. He has emphasized on Financial Inclusion did by the MFIs is certainly a big driver for bringing about social change if done ethically. He has expressed his high contentment the manner BJS is functioning. 


    Once again State Bank of India has reposed faith on BJS and we proudly announce that they have sanctioned a fresh Term loan to the tune of Rupees Ten Crore (10 Crore) to BJS on 30.07.2019. This will assist growth for BJS in order to achieve its Business Development Plan and also contribute in attaining the objective of inclusive finance. A huge thank to great management of SBI.

  • The 13th Annual General Meeting of Belghoria Janakalyan Samity was held on 13th July 2019, at BJS Head Office. All the seven Executive Committee Members were present in the meeting where, the President, Mr. Satyabrata Chakraborty, presided over the meeting. Mr. Bishwajit Das, Secretary had presented the Secretary’s report and Budget for the next financial year. All the members participated in the agenda-wise discussions for the future growth of the organization. At the end of the meeting, on behalf of all the members of the Executive Committee, the President gave sincere thanks to the Secretary for his dynamic leadership to run the team of BJS and also mentioned the contribution of all staff for the growth of the organization.

  • 13th Foundation Day of BJS observed on March 13, 2019

  • BJS Annual Retreat was held on 30th December, 2018 at Duttapukur ,North 24 parganas.

  • Dr. Ahmed Mustaque Raza Chowdhury, Vice Chairperson, BRAC visited BJS on April 26, 2018. Dr. Chowdhury met Shri Bishwajit Das, Chief Executive Officer, BJS and all other staffs of BJS at Head Office.

  • BJS arranged a grand program for Blanket Distribution among the needy women at Katiahat, Baduria, North 24 Parganas on 3rd February,2018. Shri Bishwajit Das, Chief Executive Officer, BJS welcomed all the women and also distributed blankets to the women. Shri Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, Chief Manager Indian Overseas Bank and Shri Shiv Ram Jha, Branch Manager were present in the occasion.
